Weight Before And After My PCT 2018 Thruhike

Weight Before And After My PCT 2018 Thruhike

On September 14. I arrived back in Copenhagen after completing the PCT (Pacific Crest Trail). And I just want to show how the trail affected my weight before and after my PCT 2018 thruhike.

Sadly I didn’t get my weight before or after, but during my journey (I think it was somewhere in northern California) I weighed myself and found that I had at least lost about 22 lbs.
But as you can see on the pictures it shows 🙂

This picture shows my Weight Before And After My PCT 2018 Thruhike

I will make another post about my thoughts about the trail and about getting back home to “real life”.

It is pretty insane how much weight you can loose, considering that I wasn’t that big in the beginning 🙂 although I did have some excess weight around my belly. But my legs really took a hit by the looks of it 🙂

I am already starting to gain weight way too fast, as I’m having a hard time letting go of candy 😉 AND not doing any exercise, so I might need to make a plan for that – either start running, or stop eating so much candy… hard choices 😉

Well, just a quick post to show off my body 😉 and my beard 😉

More to come

Stay tuned for more…I have a few posts/videos planned in the near future, so if you still haven’t been to my Youtube channel or seen my pictures on the instagram i highly suggest that you check it out 😉 and remember to like/subscribe/follow

  1. Hi Rod,
I followed you since your start of the PCT and liked very much your videos.
I must say that I did not think you would make the finish.
You were far behind schedule because of the many zeros you took in the first half,
but you did a great job in Oregon and Washington with big mile days.

Eversince I have seen the film Wild I want to hike the PCT one day.

I have a big question that I want to ask you, it is important for my hike one day.

When you cross the border to Canada you exit the US on a not official border checkpoint.
How does the US know that you actually left the country?

    Hope for your reply.

Maybe next year the AT? 😉

    1. thanks 🙂

I don’t think the US knows that I left the country, and when I ask the embassy I just get a convoluted answer that doesn’t help.
So when I go back in 2020 we will see if I will get in troubles hehe.

  2. Rod watched your journey from the start, really enjoy your thoughts and videos. I plan to go in 2019 and Nobo as you did . I have a question regarding equipment for the Sierras after KM . Where did you borrow rent or purchase your Bear can,Iceaxe,Micro spikes. Thanks once again for sharing your trip .
    Sincerely Terry Michael

    1. I envy you! 🙂 I really miss the trail and even though I was pretty sure that I wasn’t gonna do it again (there are so many other trails to see) Im pretty sure that I will do it again in the near future.

    2. I bought the bearcan and micro spikes on amazon as far as I remember, but you can buy one at Kennedy meadows as well. The ice axe I bought in Lonepine, as I wanted to wait until last minute to spend the money (wasn’t sure that it was needed at all because of the low snow year).
